Economics

The Governemnt degree college is established in the year 1982 under the order 2F and 12B of Govrnment of Andhra Pradesh. In the beginning of the college, it was started and functioning with the courses of B.A and B.Com .

B.A course was started under new scheme and further it was functioning under common course scheme. aftere this course changed CBCS System from the academic your of 2015-16. every year have two semisters conducted by Andhra University

every semister has 75 marks, internal assesment 25 marks .

the department of Economics started from 1982. the college and the department have been establish to cater the needs of pooror, needy, backwards and tribal area students the entire Salur Division is depending on Government Degree college Salur

in this division all families are socially and economically very backward and these people are agriculture people.

Objectives of the Department:

1. As we all know the place of economics in social sicences even furthe importance of economics is growing in this area of globalisastio.

2. the main objective of the department of economics is helping students to understand how the economy works and its importance in shaping the society

3. further even as a carier how the study of economics can open oprtunities in higher education.
