DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY

The Government degree  college is established in the 1982 under the order 2f and 12b of Government of Andhra Pradesh. In the begging of the college it was started and functioning  with the courses of B.A and B.Com the department of commerce is functioning since inception of the college. Initially the B.Com course was started under new scheme and further it was functioning  under common core syllabus from 1992 to 2000. The common course syllabus comprised the elective subjects of Costing and Taxation. The Andhra University introduced Computer applications as one of the subject in IInd and Final B.Com course and modified the common core syllabus into revised common core in the year 2000-2001 and fallowed it till to date. The department opted principles of marketing and rural marketing as elective subjects in the Final Year B.Com courses.

Our UGC introduced CBCS(Choice Based Credit System) course from the academic year 2015-2016 for 1st year students. In this year Two semesters and Four Mid exams are conducted by AU. Every semester have 75 Marks and Every mid examination  have 25marks twice in a year.

In the academic year 2020-21 our APSCHE decided admissions through on OAMDC and allotted colleges. In the same year APSCHE also decided to implement  Continuous Internal Assesment (CIA)  in the place of Internal Examinations.

Profiles

The Government Degree college,Salur, Library  established in 1982. There are approximately, 16375 books in the college library relating to Arts, Commerce, science and PG  subjects .Special books like Encyclopaedias are  available in the college Library, Reference sections are useful to the Lecturers. The reading room was also arranged  in the Library itself. SOUL Programme was installed and efforts are being made to INFLIBNET.

FUNTIONING OF THE LIBRARY

The library works  in the timings scheduled below .

  1. In all working days            :     10 am -5pm
  2. In holidays (sundays )       :     10am -1pm
  3. On exams days                   :    12pm -2pm

VISITING FACULTY AND STUDENTS TO THE LIBRARY

The faculty members regularly visit the library in the 2 shifs . The percentage of the faculty visiting to the library  is 80% of the students and the 50% staff in each shift
